What to Expect
Your First 72 Hours: A Day-by-Day Guide
Uncertainty can cause anxiety. That’s why we want you to know exactly what to expect from the moment you leave our Madrid clinic until you return to your normal routine.
Day 1: Leaving the Clinic
You’ll leave the clinic with the area still numb and a slightly “wooden” feeling. This is the time to apply a cold pack and take the medication we’ve prescribed for you. Avoid any strenuous activity. Have something cold and soft for dinner (purée or yoghurt will be your best friends today).
Day 2: Peak Swelling
It’s normal to wake up with some facial swelling; it’s a sign that your body is responding to the procedure and beginning the healing process around the artificial root. Don’t be alarmed—there is usually no sharp pain, just a feeling of tightness. Continue applying a cold pack and getting plenty of rest.
Day 3: The Turning Point
Today, you’ll notice that the swelling is starting to go down. You can begin eating slightly more solid foods (such as an omelette or soft fish), chewing on the opposite side. Most of our patients are able to return to work today.

Can I go back to work the day after getting a dental implant?
Yes. Most of our patients are able to return to their normal routine the following day. We recommend 24 hours of relative rest. For full-mouth treatments, we suggest waiting 48–72 hours for greater comfort.
Am I too old for this treatment?
You’re never too old to enjoy eating well. Age itself is not a barrier as long as your general health is stable. We have patients in their 80s enjoying their new teeth.
Why do other clinics offer implants for 300€?
